Last days of summer

Last Days of Summer 2018

With the looming Studio Tour, Culture Days and Taste Of The Hill events here in Richmond Hill, I haven’t had much time to bead. Here are couple of items I did have time to fool around with.

I lent my bead spinner out a few years ago and haven’t seen it since which didn’t bother me back then because I needed to count the number of beads for weaving. I just bought a new one and it is wonderful!  The spinner has a long needle and when it is in the spinning bowl, the needle fills up fast! It’s fun to watch. I got mine on amazon.ca – none of the locals stores carry it. I like mixing colour for a variegated look. Instead of counting beads I measure the length of the section the spinners adds. It’s not 100% accurate but the flow is softer with less precision. More pieces like this coming soon.

This is a necklace from 2012. I also make a similar belt with a beaded belt buckle.
